Week #3 5/26-6/1
Water temp: 63-68
A very solid week of fishing on The Big V this week! The bite was not crazy good over all but if you fished a little bit you could have good days on the water! We are fishing a ton of spots every trip and catching the aggressive ones and moving on.
My focus this week was shallow bobber fishing. Slip bobbers with leeches on wind blown points, rock piles, and shore lines all produced walleyes! 5-14’ deep was the range we targeted all week. Some spots they are super shallow, other spots deeper. A little bit of wind was a huge factor and helped the bite like always. If they fish are being very finicky, a big help to us the last couple of days was letting the bobber soak and eventually they bite.
As the water warms up the bite will only improve for a couple more weeks now! Cold over night temps have caused them to be sluggish early in the Am but once it warms up they are back to normal and biting.
Low light hours have been much much better than mid day, especially evenings. Warm mornings can be stellar if you’re on the right pod.
I have openings throughout June and the rest of the summer, if you want to get out give me a call or text anytime (218) 404-9200! Availability is becoming very limited so don’t hesitate to reach out. East or west end of Vermilion, mornings and evenings open. The evening bite this time of year is fantastic!
As always, tight lines!
