Zach Hrvol, Owner

My name is Zach Hrvol and I have been fishing my entire life. I grew up on Lake Shelbyville in Central Illinois chasing crappie, walleye, white bass and catfish. When I wasn’t on my home water, I was up north on Lake Vermilion chasing the elusive Minnesota Golden Walleye. I vacationed at Lake Vermilion for the first time when I was 6 years old, and along with my family, fell in love with one of the best lakes in the country. In 2018 my family and I moved up to Lake Vermilion and have called it home since. Once I finished up my college baseball career, I started Fishing with Z Guide Service in 2021. I am a very experienced fisherman so we can use techniques you are comfortable with or I can teach you something new.

My main goals are to teach you how and where to catch fish on Lake Vermilion, meet the main expectations you have for the trip (catching fish, learning spots, or learning a new style of fishing), and creating memories that will last a lifetime. Your guide trip is about YOU and what you want to experience.

I am the Vice President of the Lake Vermilion Guides league and also a member of the National Professional Anglers Association. I am a member of the Lund Pro Staff.

In 2026 I will be running one of, if not the best, boat for guiding fully rigged from Aronson Boat Works! We will be fishing out of a 2026 Lund 2075 Impact XS with the newest technology from Humminbird, Garmin, and Minnkota. The boat is powered by a 225hp Mercury Pro XS that will allow us to cover even more water and find the hot bite that day! We will be using a combination of Trika and Denali rods all paired with Diawa and Pflueger reels.

Noah Honsey, Muskie Guide

Noah Honsey grew up in Southern Minnesota fishing the Mississippi River but grew up coming to Lake Vermilion at his family cabin on the north side of Lake Vermilion. In 2025, Noah moved up to Tower and started chasing muskies every chance he could. Dedicating every moment possible to chasing the elusive fish of 10,000 casts, Noah has a strong resume to be a top muskie fisherman on Lake Vermilion.

Noah will be joining the Fishing with Z Guide team as a muskie only guide. He will specialize in night time muskie trips trying to capitalize on the after dark craziness. There are very few things that compare to catching a muskie at night and the chaos that can happen during the fight!

Noah will be guiding out of a 2026 Lund 2075 Alaskan tiller with a 150hp Mercury motor, Minnkota trolling motor, and the newest Garmin electronics. Noah is very in tune with the newest electronics and how to use them so don’t be afraid to ask questions to help better learn your own set ups!
