Hi, I’m Zach!
My name is Zach Hrvol and I have been fishing my entire life. I grew up on Lake Shelbyville in Central Illinois chasing crappie, walleye, white bass and catfish. When I wasn’t on my home water, I was up north on Lake Vermilion chasing the elusive Minnesota Golden Walleye. I vacationed at Lake Vermilion for the first time when I was 6 years old, and along with my family, fell in love with one of the best lakes in the country. In 2018 my family and I moved up to Lake Vermilion and have called it home since. Once I finished up my college baseball career, I started Fishing with Z Guide Service in 2021. I am a very experienced fisherman so we can use techniques you are comfortable with or I can teach you something new.
My main goals are to teach you how and where to catch fish on Lake Vermilion, meet the main expectations you have for the trip (catching fish, learning spots, or learning a new style of fishing), and creating memories that will last a lifetime. Your guide trip is about YOU and what you want to experience.
I am the Vice President of the Lake Vermilion Guides league and also a member of the National Professional Anglers Association.
My boat is a 2023 Lund pro guide with a 90hp Mercury, Humminbird graphs, Garmin Livescope, and Minnkota trolling motor. We will be using top of the line equipment which includes Denali, Trika, and 2B rods along with Pflueger, Diawa, and Okuma reels.
